Recently, we teamed up with the community for a special event called Heart to Heart. This gathering was all about building a healthier, more connected community by promoting nutrition, healthy living, and practical skills for well-being. Held at the Hyde Park YMCA, the event emphasized how small, positive changes in our lifestyles can make a big impact. Together, we highlighted the importance of eating right, staying active, and practicing wellness habits that can be life-saving. Additionally, we were fortunate to receive support from the EMS, who provided CPR lessons and valuable information on emergency responses, empowering attendees to step in and save lives if needed.
Heart to Heart wasn’t just about physical health; it was also an opportunity to celebrate those who dedicate themselves to uplifting and supporting our neighborhoods. Among the honorees was Panlyfe Project 333, a local initiative that has shown immense dedication to community education, development, and well-being. Panlyfe’s founder, Asan Reid, is an inspiring force behind this effort, constantly working to uplift the people and neighborhoods he loves. The work of Asan and the Panlyfe team goes beyond typical community service—they’re committed to long-term, impactful change.

On behalf of Panlyfe, DROCasso proudly accepted an award in recognition of the project’s incredible contributions. Standing alongside other community champions, DROCasso expressed his gratitude to Asan for creating a platform that gives back and uplifts, especially in areas where resources and support can be hard to find. He also shared a deeply personal note of gratitude: “Thank you for giving me the opportunity to give back to the same community I once wreaked havoc in!” DROCasso’s journey has come full circle, and being able to support a cause like Panlyfe was an honor he held close. He also thanked the entire Panlyfe team, emphasizing that each member plays an essential role in their mission and that Panlyfe wouldn’t be what it is today without them.
This event was a profound reminder of the power of community and unity. Not only did we come together to learn about health and wellness, but we also sparked important conversations around these topics. Nutrition, exercise, and mental well-being are not just individual pursuits—they’re pillars for building a healthier community. And when we speak openly about these topics, it encourages others to prioritize their health too. Events like Heart to Heart make us realize that change begins with small steps. By sharing knowledge, honoring dedicated individuals, and supporting one another, we can create a healthier environment for everyone.

At the end of the day, Heart to Heart reminded us of the importance of taking charge of our health, supporting local heroes, and working together to build a stronger, more resilient community. Thank you to everyone who attended, the organizers, the EMS team, and especially to Asan Reid and Panlyfe Project 333 for their dedication. We look forward to more opportunities to make a positive impact and be the change we wish to see.
